Coleen Nolan doesn’t like how “restricted” Loose Women has become.

The 59-year-old panellist, who has been a part of the chat show since 2000, insists there was more freedom of speech back in the show’s earlier days, and now fears being cancelled.

“Back then, you could say what you wanted and while people might not have agreed with you, it didn’t mean you were cancelled or never going to work again,” she shared.

“Now, we have to be really careful and edit ourselves. That’s the only slightly negative change.”

While more cautious about what she says, Coleen said she still “loved every minute of it,” in a chat with Love Sunday magazine.

Reflecting on her time on the show as part of the programme’s 25th anniversary celebrations, the mother-of-three listed some of her greatest moments so far.

She shared with ITV: “There are too many to list, every week there is a memorable moment on the show.

“But, obviously my first time on the show, walking on as a guest for the first time was pretty nerve wracking – and dancing with Britney Spears is also up there!”

Coleen’s latest admission comes after her ex fellow panellist Carol McGiffin described the show as “boring”, following her exit last year.

The 64-year-old told GB News she was suffering “too much stress” during contract negotiations, and claimed the programme had become “too woke”.

In an interview with Woman’s Own Magazine, she added: “I don’t regret leaving. I don’t fit in there anymore.

“Someone, somewhere will be offended by absolutely everything. I’d rather not be on a show that panders to that.

“It’s boring – and I won’t be told what I can or can’t say.”

Despite her exit, Carol went on to say that she was still good friends with some of the panellists, including Denise Welch and Nadia Sawalha.

She added: “Some, I have nothing in common with. As I said to them, ‘You’re not friends, you’re just people I work with, who I really like’, which horrified them.”

Loose Women airs weekdays from 12.30pm on ITV and ITVX.
