A Toronto-area man in a rush to get to Montreal was hauled in by provincial police Thursday morning doing 180 km/h on Hwy 401 near Prescott.

“The driver had borrowed a friend’s car,” the OPP noted on the social media site X. “That vehicle is now impounded for 14 days.”

The driver’s license was seized and suspended for 30 days.

He faces a minimum fine of $2,000 and a maximum fine of $10,000.

“Speeds such as this puts everyone else at risk, including the two passengers (in the car) at the time,” OPP said.
