According to a NSW Ambulance spokesperson, multiple crews, including a specialist medical team, were deployed to the scene.
However, the employee, who suffered head injuries from the fall, was later transferred by ambulance to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital.
In a statement, the Sydney Airport spokesperson said SafeWork NSW had been contacted.
“Our focus is on the welfare of the injured staff member and assisting Safe Work NSW [sic] with their enquiries,” they said.
SafeWork NSW has commenced its investigations into the incident, a spokesperson confirmed.
A Qantas spokesperson said in a statement that the company’s focus at this time is supporting the injured employee, and that it would be working with Sydney Airport and SafeWork NSW with their investigation.
