On Tuesday, the CFL club announced that they have released American offensive lineman Trevor Reid in order to pursue an NFL opportunity.
Last season, the 24-year-old started all 18 regular season games for the Roughriders in his first CFL season while earning the team’s most outstanding rookie honours. He also started the Western semifinal before being hurt in that game.

Prior to coming to Saskatchewan, the 6-foot-5, 312-pound signed with the NFL’s Philadelphia Eagles as an undrafted free agent following the 2023 NFL Draft. After attending rookie camp with the Eagles, Reid was picked up by the Atlanta Falcons for training camp before being released.
3DownNation has reported that Reid has worked out for three NFL teams this off-season including the Indianapolis Colts, Minnesota Vikings and Cincinnati Bengals. Saskatchewan retains Reid’s rights through February 2026 if he were to return.
Prior to turning pro, Reid played three seasons at the University of Louisville from 2019-22 after a two-year stint at Georgia Military College from 2018-19.
Meanwhile earlier on Tuesday, the Roughriders added an American offensive lineman to the roster with the addition of 6-foot-7, 310-pound Brandon Kemp, who spent the last three years with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats where he suited up at right tackle.
The Roughriders offensive line group now features Americans Kemp, Jermarcus Hardrick, Jacob Brammer and Nick Jones along with Canadians Logan Ferland, Zack Fry, Noah Zerr, Daniel Johnson and Braydon Noll.
